The glass turner is designed for the removal of any impurities from glasses before material filling. On the input side, the glass turner collects glasses from the feeding conveyor. The lamellar belts with finger carriers move along two C-shaped tracks. The bottles are gripped by thermoplastic finger carriers that form part of the lamellar belt. As they travel, the gripper fingers are deformed, thus creating tension on the glass. Thanks to this, the glass is held in the gripper fingers along its track, and moved by the conveyor. In the upper section of the track where the glasses are positioned upside down, they are cleared by pressurized air or water. Subsequently, the glasses are removed by a clearing lamellar conveyor.
The glass turner consists of a massive welded frame on which there are two tracks with lamellar belts. The distance between tracks can be continuously adjusted, depending on the dimension of the transported glass. The distance between individual tracks can be set on a scale in millimetres, B = 0 to 170 mm. The pressure of the gripper fingers can be set with high precision, i.e., it is also possible to transport metal containers.
The machine is driven by two gearboxes with electric motors, controlled by a single frequency changer. This ensures smooth regulation and the same speed of the belts for both tracks. The machine is set up on adjustable articulated feet.
The device is made of stainless steel structure (quality according to DIN 1.4301), including the connecting material of quality A2 and plastic components. All materials used have been certified for direct contact with food.
